Compress, resize & strip photo metadata

Make photos smaller for email or the web, and remove hidden metadata such as GPS location, camera serial numbers, and timestamps before you share them.

How it works

Each image is decoded and redrawn on a canvas inside your browser, then re-encoded at the size and quality you choose. Re-encoding writes only pixels, so all EXIF, GPS, XMP and IPTC metadata is dropped. Before processing, the tool reads a JPEG's EXIF block and shows you what it found, including any GPS coordinates, so you can see what you would have shared.

Phone photos are rotated upright using their orientation tag before it is removed. Images are never enlarged.

Limits: HEIC/HEIF photos only work where the browser can open them (mostly Safari). Animated GIFs come out as a single frame. Color profiles are converted to sRGB.

Privacy: the tool runs in your browser, so nothing you add (files, text, passwords) is uploaded or stored by us. No account needed. It also works offline once loaded.
